Car Garage w/ tp rolls

Today we made Car Garage make of Toilet Paper Rolls!

The boys had so much fun & finally we have found a use for all those empty toilet paper rolls that seem to just turn up once I see a white flash fly down the stairs.  I can't tell you how many rolls fly down the stairs by Leland on a regular basis! I finally started keeping the "good" rolls in my bathroom and boys get the cheap stuff!

What you need:
- empty toilet paper rolls
- scissors
- tape
- markers
- hot wheel cars (they just need to be small enough to fit through the tube)
- & of course a little imagination!

First we started off by coloring the rolls.

Then we added a little tape & colored a little more.

Parked a few cars.

Then they played for hours!

Happy Parking!

Puzzle Day!

Today was National Puzzle Day!
I did a Google search for a site that tells you all the "crazy fun" holidays & today was National Puzzle Day!

So I pulled out the magnet "Yo Gabba, Gabba" & "Mike The Knight" puzzles I made a little while back. I printed them from the Nick Jr. website.
Then I cut them, laminated them, then added magnets to the back. I picked up some really inexpensive cookie sheets. They are perfect for magnet play and it saves your fridge!

So I  numbered each piece 1-9 with a letter because it seems like they always get mixed up once the boys start playing with them. I always seem to be the one that sorts them in the end.

Then I printed off a photo and taped it to the front of the baggie so there is a reference point when putting the puzzle together.

There are several puzzles you can print! You could even have the kids color their own pictures or print any photo, cut it & have them put it back together.

Here are the the few we have made.

The Boys had a great time putting these together.

Ian was all about "Mike The Knight"

Leland couldn't get enough of "Yo, Gabba, Gabba!"

Happy Puzzle Day!

National Peanut Butter Day!

National Peanut Butter Day! Who knew!

Today was filled with peanut butter. It's not too far of a stretch from our regular days because we are always eating PB in this house!

Welcome to our Peanut Butter Adventure!

For breakfast we had some
Leapin Lemurs!!
A chocolate & pb cereal.
It's organic so it's healthy right?!?
HA

For morning snack we made some crackers with PB!

Lunch time of course, we made some PB & J's

We were going to make some PB cookies but we knew Daddy would eat them ALL!
We went with PB Popcorn!

Yes, you did read that correct!
I found the recipe on All Recipes.com

The Boys had a great time helping out. They had even more fun enjoying the rest of the afternoon snacking on it. I don't know how they don't have belly aches between all that snacking and all the marshmallows they had to "sneak" by me.

Lets get started!

All you need is popcorn, PB, brown sugar, butter, marshmallows and a few PB lovers!
I have 5 of them around here if you count our pups!

So first take - 1 stick of butter
(the recipe called for margarine but we just have butter.)

Second add - a 1/2 of a bag of mini marshmallows
(the recipe called for 12 large but we only had a bag of minis)

Third add - 3/4 cup brown sugar

It's always a bonus to have a little helper.

Once you add all 3 ingredients in the bowl you are going to put it in the microwave for 1 minute
You may need to add a few more second in the microwave, just make sure you do it in 30 second intervals until it's all melted. I think I only had to put it in for another 30 seconds.

It came out like this at 1 minute
The marshmallows were puffy and the butter was just about melted.

Stir it, then stick it back in if you need to. This was where I added the extra 30 seconds.

Once you have it all melted and mixed - Add 1/2 cup PB.
(the recipe calls for 1/4 cup but it didn't taste like peanut butter really, it was more sweet so I added that extra 1/4 c and it came out nice. It wasn't too sweet)

Once you had added all the PB - Drizzle on the yum!

Finally, attempt to stir!

Enjoy!

I got a YUM MOM & a THUMBS UP!

At this point I think we are ALL peanut buttered out!
I think we will skip a PB dinner and maybe have a little more PB Popcorn for a bedtime snack.

Kiwi Loco!!!

We have this great frozen yogurt place in town and it's so yummy! The boys love to go and it's always a treat for me too, I can't lie.

                    Kiwi Loco

The great thing about it is you get to pick your own frozen yogurt and then add your own toppings. It's such a fun place! I don't know how often they change up the flavors but every time we have gone, they have something new.

 First, you get your cup!

Then you pick your flavor or should I say flavors!

Then while your big brother is picking out toppings, you talk Dad into filling up your cup!

After you fill your cup up with all your favorite flavors and toppings you weight it!
$0.39 an oz.

Can't forget the sprinkles!                                                        .9oz! for Ian & 4.0oz! for Leland

Tonight Leland went w/ A LOT of Birthday Cake, a little Fruit Punch & tiny bit of Chocolate.
Can't forget the Gunny Worms!

& Ian went w/ Pinapple, Strawberry Banana, Vanilla, Cake Batter, Green Apple.
Of course you can't forget the 7 cherries, 5 Gummy Bears, 2 Swedish Fish, 6 Chocolate Candie Rocks, 2 Frosted Circus Cookies, 1 scoop of the Fruity Pebbles and 3 shakes of the Sprinkle Shaker!

Finally find your seat and ENJOY!

YUM-O!
