Disnsy Days

So we have our family trip planned to Disney World and it's going to be the first time the boys have ever been there! Plus it's the first time every flying on an airplane so join us in the adventure!

Wow have we been busy! Only 4 days until Disney!!!
The boys are SO excited they can't take it!

They have their Mickeys and their bags are packed!

I have been doing tons & tons of searching for ideas to keep the kids busy while we are in the airport & in the lines at Disney. I found so many great things. After each amazing idea you can find the link to where I found all the resources to make it.

So I created these "count down" Disney Calendars because I was going crazy when Ian kept asking me if we were going to Disney tomorrow
At Disney Junior you can choose from 19 different Disney Character Themes then pick a Character from that. Pick a month, add some fun little "sticker reminders" & print!

Both boys went with Toy Story
Ian picked Buzz Light year & Leland picked Woody!

So each day, they get pick a sticker to put on the day as a reminder of how many more days we have until Disney! If you notice the "Woody" calendar - that would be Lelands - it's full of stickers... so according to Leland, we should have left for Disney 3 weeks ago!

I am totally a "list" girl! I have a list for everything, you name it, I have a list for it!  I knew that my first task was going to be starting a list for everything I needed to get together.  I also stuck a designated bag on the main floor of the house so as I came across things that I knew I was going to bring I could just toss them in the bag.

My second task was to figure out how I was going to keep 2 busy boys, busy during a 4 hour flight. I figured for the first 1/2 of our flight they would be so excited to be on an airplane that they may not need much to keep them occupied. So I'm packing snacks for that portion on the trip and I'm sure they will be super excited to get a soda

~Ian went on a field trip to the airport last week with his class and his favorite part of the tour.... was the bathroom! Boys! you can't help but laugh at them.~

We have these Bingo sheets I printed off a long time ago when Nick jr. was Noggin.. and it's travel Bingo cards. So I thought, hey that would be a great idea for Airport & for long Disney Lines. Then I thought, well that wont really work because it's going to be a little hard to play a game so I came up with the same concept but I made it more like an "I-Spy" game than a "Bingo" game. I have this great link I can across when I was trying to create my own bingo sheets. I finally came around the BINGO BAKER!! This is a great site to make up your own bingo cards. Here is what I came up with for our Airport I-Spy.

The nice thing with the Bingo Baker is you can enter whatever you want in the blank spaces, choose how many game cards you want and it will mix up all the spaces to generate the number of cards you want. I selected 2 cards and printed them twice. This way I could have a back to back card but had 2 of them so we could all play while we are there. I laminated them and then we use a dry erase marker to cross off this things when we find them.

Then of course I made some for Disney!

I figured I will pull these out of my bag when the kids get restless in line. Now I know Disney has done an AMAZING job when it comes to detail and fun while standing in line but my kids can't even stand in line for an ice cream cone for 2 minutes so I'm not getting my hopes up when it comes to keeping them occupied for a 45 minute wait in line for a ride that only lasts about 30 seconds. I'm going prepared!

I also made these super cute magnetic "Funny Face" cases out of empty Altoids case.

I can't remember where I found this idea but I did a google search for "silly face printable" & I found a million things. Finally I found the site Plant of the Apels Blog Site.
That was where I found, what I consider to be the best
"funny faces"  I printed them and then laminated them, cut them out and attached the magnets. I just picked the magnets up at Walmart I think in the craft section. You can buy a roll, a sheet or little button magnets.

Then cut out a white sheet of paper the same size as the Altoids can and just glued it in.

On to the packing!

The carry on bags for both boys I packed several different things. Some people might think it's way too much but I know my kids and they are running a mile a minute so you never know what will and will not keep them busy. I oppted to come over prepared!
Packing List For Boys Carry-On Bags
  • Tummy Ticklers - You can get these at Target, Walmart, the grocery store. What I like about them is that you can re-use them for awhile. I just cut the labels off and full them with water or juice. You can toss them after you have used them a few times and it keeps things fun for the kids. We found a "Woody & Buzz" so those were perfect for the airplane. When the flight attendent came around with drinks I just had him add the juice right in the bottle. It worked great, no spills = no messes. We use them at restaurants too. They are perfect because they wont spill and if they get left behind it's not a big deal.
  • Doodle Pro  - "Cars" Themed of course! These really were the best thing we brought for the boys! They were perfect for the plane, perfect for the airport and PERFECT for the lines at Disney!
  • Window Clings - I picked these up at our local Dollar General Store. They were prefect to use on windows when we on the plane and at the airport.
  • Blank Drawing Pad - Picked this up at the Dollar General Also
  • Color Books - Dollar General again.
  • Crayola Write Start Colored Pencils - These Crayola Colored Pencils are great!  They are a must have in my opinion.
  •  Books - I packed a few books. I didn't expect them to pick a book to read over all the other things we packed but hey, you never know! I do have to say they did come in handy for bed time some nights
  • Hidden Pictures & Art Starters - I found these both at Target in the dollar bin right near the front of the store.
  •  Disney Magazine - Cars & Playhouse Disney - I came across these at Fred Meyer in the magazine section and I thought they were perfect.
  • Blue Orange Games - We happen to get these little "mini" versions of the Spot It and Pixy Cubes. The links attached are the links to the full games. The mini games we got in the kids meal at Chick-fil-A. just a side note - I think Chick-fil-a has some of the best kids meal toys our there
  •  Lego Cases - These were perfect storage for Ian's cars and army men & for Lelands little dinos and cars. I added the "funny face" cases I made a note pad, some stickers and the Crayola Write Start Colored Pencils.

  • I.D. Band - I ordered these online for the boys to wear while we were out and about. If you flip the band inside out to reads "I'm lost please call my Mommy or Daddy" Then it lists our number. Thank goodness we didn't need to use them but I felt a little safer knowing they had them on. Once we were at the Zoo in Indiana when Ian was a little over 2yrs old. We were visiting my sister. She has twin girls the same age as Ian and one of the girls wondered off and it was the worst feeling ever!!! Now when we go into large crowds it's all I can think of. I know that if they get separated from us they know to find a "Mommy w/ kids" to get help. They can show them the ID bracelets and they can call.
  • Kindle Fire - Last but not least and we may have been lost with out these! The boys each have Kindles. They can watch movies, play games, read books and listen to music. They were perfect for the trip. Plus they each had a set of earphones
