crazy fun adventures

Our family is full of adventure and with two lil' boys we go on some crazy, exciting adventures. There never seems be a dull moment around here and they are moments we will forever be talking about. I wouldn't change it for anything!

January Drive

One of our favorite things to do during the year is to take a drive. We make up a little snack, load up the car and head out for our adventure.

Yesterday I wanted to get some photos of the mountains. I am not a professional at all but I do love to get out and try to capture the beauty of the land.

Right now the mountains are filled with snow and it’s just amazing!

I grew up in Iowa and although the fields are beautiful in their own right, there is just something about the Mountains that get me every time.  I didn’t get really getting to photography until we moved to Idaho. I have always had an interest I just never took the time to do it.  We lived in Michigan for about 10 years and now, looking back I wish I would have made the time to take more pictures.

Here are a few from yesterday.

 The Yummy Snack!!

I always have to add a little special treat to the popcorn or it just isn't the same. Today I added some "Runts"

I found these little bags at Target. I bought them right after school started. There were on clearance for less that a $1.00 for a pack of 3!

We tried to use them as a sandwich bag like they are intended for but it only dried them out. They make great Snack Packs though!

Here is a photo from our lil' Adventure!

A Day at the Dentist

My little owl Ian is back to the dentist again today. Just before Christmas his cheek and jaw began to swell and we took him to the pediatrician. They put him on a an antibiotic to take down the swelling and to ward off an infection. They told us if the swelling or pain comes back then we will need to make an appointment with his dentist.

Well the swelling came back last week so we headed to the dentist. Long story short my poor little love has to get a crown!! The tooth was starting to decay under the filling.  We did another 7 days on the medication to eliminate any infection.

Today is the day!

We have an awesome pediatric dentist named Dr. McWhorter at Dentistry For Kids and you have to take a peek at the website. The office is so kid friendly and the staff is just amazing.

**I WILL POST PHOTOS WHEN WE GET HOME!

Well he survived... I'm not sure if it had to do with the Lego's I  promised but hey, he made it with out throwing up, and without too many tears.

Here are the before, between and after photos....

While we waited I made his stand to take this one. I had to get just  "one" with a smile on his face.

This office is so unbelievable cute. Ian hates that they only "Two Toys" Well that is because we only have to wait two minutes before they bring you back!

He isn't all the way back just yet but it's so nice because they have a TV in the ceiling and they get little headphones to listen to the movie.

Today's move was Despicable Me
One of Ian's favorites.

He was so brave! I think he did better than I would have done that's for sure.

He wasn't such a happy camper when it was done but I think the sucker helped. Also Dr McWhorter said he could pick out 2 prizes from the robot.

He was nice enough to pick out one for his brother! Still  so sweet after all that. (once I find them, I will add a photo. who knows where they are!)

Well, when it was all said and done we headed to Fred Meyer for that awesome set of Lego's!

When it was all said and done, he survived and he was ready to go!
